Chief: It is
time to call the {Tribe} meeting to order. Tribe, gather together in a
circle.
Drumbeater, beat the drum once for each Princess at today’s meeting.
(Pause)
Let’s all
stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Chief:
Drumbeater…what is an Indian Princess?
Drumbeater: A
girl with a dad like mine.
Chief:
Tribe….what is the Purpose of Indian Princesses?
All: To foster
the understanding and companionship between father and daughter, ……
And to HAVE
FUN!
Chief:
Tribe….what is the slogan of the Indian Princesses?
All: Pals
Forever….Friends Always.
Chief:
Tribe…what are the aims of the Indian Princesses?
All:
- To be
clean in body and pure in heart.
- To be friends
always with my father/daughter.
- To love the
sacred circle of my family.
- To listen
while others speak.
- To love my
neighbor as myself.
- To seek and
preserve the beauty of the Great Spirit’s work in forest, field and
stream.
Chief: Now it
is time to hear the scouting reports from the Princesses. Drumbeater,
take up the
talking stick and tell us of your scouting adventures with your dad.
Chief: The
Great Spirit is pleased with the scouting reports. Our Princesses and
dads have been very busy.
Drumbeater….
beat the drum once for each member of your family. (Pause)
Tallykeeper…..call the roll while Wampum Bearer collects the dues.
(Pause)
Drumbeater…..please pass out the tribal beads to our Princesses. (Pause)
Wampum
Bearer…..please give us your report on the {Tribe} wampum.
Chief:
Drumbeater….beat the drum 5 times for the storyteller. (Pause)
Storyteller…..do you have a story for us today?
Storyteller:
Yes, Princesses….come and sit in a circle and listen to our story.
Chief: Thank
you storyteller for that wise lesson.
